The focus of the concept is the realization of partnering events (e.g. workshops and information sessions) and the presentation and promotion of the efficiency of the Central German research landscape in the field of polymer development and processing.
Events
POLYKUM regularly organizes workshops and information days on industry-specific topics and issues. Companies, establishment, networks or associations of the plastics sector in the Czech Republic/ Slovakia are invited to take part at these partnering events. So they have the possibility to get to know more about the R&D and innovation potential of the Central German establishments and companies. They also have the possibility to promote their own activities and to initiate new business-contacts. Furthermore POLYKUM also organizes joint booths at international exhibitions of the plastics sector for POLYKUM-members and interested companies.
Homepage/ Database
The POLYKUM-homepage will be reconstructed, e.g. with a new rubric “cross-national collaborations” with brief information about the company or establishments. Some sections of the homepage will be available in English. It is also planned to build a database consisting of two parts. The first part of the database contents information about the R&D sites, Universities, Technical Universities, UAS and companies of the plastics sector in Central Germany. The second part – like an online market place – shall be the basic for initiating new R&D and business contacts. Companies and establishments of the plastics sector from the Czech Republic/ Slovakia or others can also input brief information about their business and search new partners. Furthermore a contact platform especially for foreign scientists/ engineers and research-interested companies shall offered (Jobs / Job applications, tenders, etc.).
